Baby Nap Basics

Baby naps are important part of baby’s daily routine naps are natural and very important for growth of your baby. Scientifically your body grows faster while sleeping as compared to wake up state. Regular naps also help babies to digest their intakes properly. Usually babies need 2-4 hours sleep during day time with full night sleep, but if your baby need more let him sleep as much he want. It’s always suggested to avoid outings for few weeks as baby and you both need proper rest. After few weeks when you start outing you have to be very careful about your baby naps.
Below are some checks you must follow some dos and don’ts

DON'TS

Don’t wake up baby: Always allow your babies to wake up normally because unnatural wake ups can cause cries and irritation. Always remember it’s not necessary to awake baby, try to let this know everyone around you especially elder siblings.
Do not encourage to-go naps: Many parents find on the go naps easier but to go naps can be harmful for your baby. To go naps are always involve lots of shifting and in most of the cases baby’s body posture of sleeping found unnatural. Doctors suggest if you find your baby tired it’s better to rearrange your schedule or avoid baby outing (if you have someone at home to take care the baby).
Don’t in Rush: Naps are natural and essential do not take naps as a work to do. Try to notice sneezing, hiccups, whimpers and yawns these are some common sleep symptoms. Baby will cry before settling down, give time to your baby, make him comfortable, wait for a while and observe things.

DO'S
Spot Sleepiness: It’s important to spot when your baby is feeling sleepy. When you will able to spot the sleepiness you can easily schedule your meetings and works in such a way it won’t disturb your baby’s sleep.
Know the fact babies need sleep: Sometimes parents get worried about baby sleep, they think their baby’s sleep time is not normal. Babies usually sleep 10hours a day, but it can be anything around 10-18. If your baby is sleeping for long don’t worry, its completely normal.
Feed take a break than nap: Every day after feeding try to play with babies, talk to them, and make sure there is a break between feed and sleep at least 15-20min.
